20-02-14: Final scheduled international DC-10 passenger flight (S2-ACR)
Biman DC-10 Final Take Off from Dhaka, Bangladesh - Window View
On Friday 20th February 2014, the last passenger-carrying McDonnell Douglas DC-10 aircraft in the world operated its final commercial flight.

Biman Bangladesh Airlines indulged many aviation enthusiasts by organising not only a series of nine pleasure flights from Birmingham Airport (BHX) in the UK on 22-24 February, but by also offering the Dhaka to Birmingham flight for commercial sale for the most die-hard aviation enthusiasts among us.

The flight was operated as flight BG1015 from Dhaka via Kuwait to Birmingham. Each sector was around 6.5 hours flight time, giving plenty of time for us to absorb the atmosphere and enjoy talking with the crew and fellow enthusiasts.

The aircraft was S2-ACR 'New Era', the second last DC-10 off the production line in 1988, and the only DC-10 to be delivered brand new to Biman Bangladesh Airlines.

This was without doubt one of the most memorable flights of my life, even having flown several Biman DC-10 sectors in the past. A huge and heartfelt THANK YOU to Biman Bangladesh Airlines for making this happen!
